Responsible lending
You are protected by responsible lending laws. At BFL, we follow responsible lending principles for providing transparent dealings by exercising care, diligence and skill to help you make informed decisions. We conduct reasonable inquiries to ensure you can afford the loan repayments and that the loan suits your needs.
What we require
To access our loan you will need to visit our office. We will require your ID like current NZ passport, otherwise driver license and birth certificate or other similar ID. If you are on a work visa come and see us to discuss the ID's that you can provide like your issued NZ visa on your current passport.
An application form needs to be completed and you need to be older than 18 years of age.
We will require your proof of address.
Second
step
To access if the loan is suitable and affordable for you we will require proof of income and your expenses breakdown. This will include last three months bank statements, recent payslips or other applicable proof. You will need to disclose other loans that you may have. We may be able to help by consolidating your loan.
You will require your consent for credit and other checks.

Loan contract
If you meet all the responsible lending requirements then we will prepare an applicable loan document that outlines all our terms and conditions. You will need to read and consider this contract including disclosure of interest, fees and repayment information and all other terms and conditions. Please use an independent advisor if required. Take your time to understand the documents and ask us any questions. Once you are ready you can sign and return the contract for the loan to be completed.
Privacy
We treat all information gathered and provided by you as private and confidential. We disclose information to third parties only with your consent. All personal details are kept secure and is used for our own purpose of completing and administering your loan. Refer to Privacy matters in the Terms page for further information.
